Hieronymus Heyerdahl (1867-1959), was a Norwegian lawyer and local politician. He was a member of the Oslo (Kristiania) City Council in 1911-19 and 1923-25. From 1912-14 he was mayor of the city, and his experience of the anniversary celebration in 1914 led him to devote munch (Sic.!) time and energy towards getting Oslo a representative City Hall. Munch painted his portrait for the Gallery of Mayors in the Oslo City Hall (Woll 1258), and two similar portraits (???Woll 1259 og ???Woll 1257). He also made two lithographic portraits (cat.nos. 599 and 600). P. 363.
