Axel Thorenfeldt has throughout his childhood at Hvaler and studying biology in Lund, Sweden, become an established and leading bird and nature painter. He has an impressive exhibition resumé, in both Norway and Sweden. In January this year, Jan Mollbrink, founder of Mollbrinks Konstandel in Uppsala: «Throughout my nearly 50 years as a gallerist, I have seldom seen someone who treats watercolours in such a manner as Axel.» Last year, Thorenfeldt’s book «Coastal Birds» («Kystfugler») was published by the Norwegian publisher Gyldendal. It has been critically acclaimed and is the most illustrated and expansive book on birds that has been created in Norway. This spring it will be released in Sweden as well. But before this, he will have an exhibition at GWPA, 24-30 April.
