Annotated (in German) on the back of the board: "Oscarshall Jagtschloss bei Christiania Aasta Hansteen 4 Juli 1854" (Oscarshall Hunting Castle nearby Christiania Aasta Hansteen 4 July 1854). When this painting was painted the castle was only 2 years old. The build was started in 1848 and was finished in 1852.
