We are seeking modern and contemporary art for the Important Autumn Sale
Auction 27 November, 2024. Consignment deadline: 16 September.
Four out of the five highest selling prices this spring auction season in Norway took place at Grev Wedels Plass Auksjoner. Our buyers seek the highest quality, and we have already begun preparing the autumn season. We will be available for general advising and consignments throughout this summer.
The Important Autumn Sale is the season’s main auction and includes works from our most well-known 19th and 20th century masters and established contemporary artists. Over the course of 6 months, we work hard to put together a selection of the highest possible quality, by artists we know are in demand. There is generally a lower price valuation limit of NOK 50,000 for this auction. The Important Autumn Sale will include 50 to 80 carefully selected works, of which there are always auction-records made.
Artists currently in demand include:
Synnøve Anker Aurdal • Harriet Backer • Anna-Eva Bergman • Hanne Borchgrevink • Olivier Debré • Jan Groth • Gunnar S. Gundersen
Else Hagen • Arnold Haukeland • Thorvald Hellesen • Irma Salo Jæger • Ludvig Karsten • Ragnhild Keyser • Kitty Kielland
Theodor Kittelsen • Per Kleiva • Gudrun Kongelf • Ragnhild Kaarbø • Edvard Munch • Pablo Picasso • Johs. Rian • Bendik Riis
Aase Texmon Rygh • Hannah Ryggen • Inger Sitter • Harald Sohlberg • Odd Tandberg • Lars Tiller • Charlotte Wankel • Jakob Weidemann
GWPA emphasizes catalogue work, preparing professional digital catalogues with informative art-historical texts about significant works. We will also release our semi-annual Preview, which includes art-historical texts, examples of what is to come in this season’s auctions, as well as interesting information about the art-market. These are distributed in print to our clients but can also be found digitally online.
To be considered for this autumn’s Preview, the consignment deadline is 16 September.
We customize marketing for each work we take upon ourselves to sell and offer personal service and close follow-ups from the first contact with us until the settlement is on your account.
If you are considering selling one or several works, or would like valuation free of charge, please contact Hans Richard Elgheim.
